 Urban Farm VISTA at Shreveport Green, a local non-profit that focuses on health and the environment. We are currently in the process of setting up a community farm and we have plenty of volunteer opportunities available.

Hamilton South Caddo branch of Shreve Memorial Library - In search of volunteers!

 The youth services department for the Hamilton South Caddo branch of Shreve Memorial Library host an afterschool program for children ages 12-18. On Wednesdays at 3:30pm, guest speakers are invited to speak to the children about a variety of topics (career paths, overcoming obstacles, etc.). They would like you to be their next speaker!

Volunteers needed to help with parties and other fun activities!!

 Want to get involved and be a service to older Americans in our community? 

Volunteers needed to help with: 

* Seasonal and monthly parties - fun, food, and interaction

* Weekly activities - Bingo, Bean Bag Baseball, and more! 

* Speakers - to give presentations on interesting topics

* Instructors - to share skills like painting and crafts

Volunteer shifts: Mostly during the day and is flexible depending on the event or activity. 

Volunteer requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and have your 1st and 2nd Covid vaccination. 


These events are a lot of fun and you will meet some of the most amazing people who have stories to tell and wisdom to share!

Numana - Meal packaging volunteers needed April 9th!

 Numana is an international hunger relief organization that has, with the help of thousands of volunteers, packaged more than 43 million meals that benefit the hungry around the world. 

On April 9th, at LSU-Shreveport volunteers will measure the ingredients, scooping them into meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, and box the finished product. The boxes will then be loaded to trucks to prepare for international shipping. The meals consists of rice, soy protein, freeze-dried pinto beans and a blend of vitamins and minerals targeted to help the immune system of malnourished people.
