Winter Jam 2024 Volunteers Needed!

 Winter Jam 2024 will be coming to Bossier City, LA on Sunday, March 17th and we need your help! All volunteers get FREE admission to the show and will receive validation of community service hours, if needed. 



World Vision Volunteers Shift: 3:00pm- end of show

Volunteers will help audience members sign up to become child sponsors. Volunteers will be trained by tour representatives on-site with specific responsibilities and assignments in the sponsorship process. This will include long periods of standing and walking. We need volunteers to commit to staying through the end of the show (approx. 20 - 30 mins past end of show) as there will still be sponsorship activities happening after the show ends. No ticket purchase needed. Age Requirement: 18+ (14 -17 with an adult)

Zonta Club of Shreveport 5k Volunteers Needed!

 The Zonta Club of Shreveport is hosting a 5k on Saturday, October 28th and needs volunteers like you to help distribute water to runners, face painting, checking participants in, and more!

United Way Fill the Bus Volunteers Needed

 Fill The Bus is United Way’s annual school supply drive. We provide the collected school supplies to over 4,000 of our local elementary, middle, and high schools. These supplies help our children in need have a successful school year! We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks! American Cancer Society (ACS) volunteers needed!


Transportation is one of the biggest roadblocks to cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program helps provide the rides that can help save lives.  For those cancer patients who cannot drive themselves or have no other means of getting to their appointments, volunteers donate their time and the use of their personal vehicle to provide patients rides to their potentially lifesaving treatments. We accept drivers who are interested in driving as often as every day, once a month, or as often as they’re able. 

There are many patients who are not able to finish treatment due to a lack of transportation in the Shreveport community. Our goal is for every cancer patient to have a ride to their lifesaving treatment! See the flier below for more information!

Salvation Army volunteers needed!

 This Thursday, June 22nd, the Salvation Army will be passing out cases of water to those affected by the storm from 9 am to 1 pm. They have 200 cases of water they need help distributing! For more information, contact Julie Allen at 318-464-5023

Volunteers needed at the Emergency Shelter

 The Emergency Shelter at Morning Star Baptist Church needs round-the-clock volunteers this week (6/19-6/24). Preferred volunteer shifts are from 9-1, 1-6, and 6-11 pm. For more information contact Ivy at 318-820-0115

Volunteers needed at the Highland Center Cooling Center

 This week, 6/19-6/24, the Highland Cooling Center will  be open from 9 am - 4 pm and volunteers are needed from 1-4 each day. They are looking for someone who can hang out in their library or gym to keep an eye on any kids or adults that come through. 

They are also looking for donations of water bottles and snacks.

The Gaither Vocal Band has an upcoming concert in Benton, LA on May 12th and we need your help! We are looking for individuals that are interested in attending the event and serving. Volunteers will get FREE admission to the show and receive validation of community service hours. This is a great opportunity for small groups, student organizations, and recovery groups to serve in the community!

SML Children's Book Festival Volunteers Needed!!!!

We are in need of friendly, reliable, book-loving students for the SML Children’s Book Festival. The festival will feature award-winning authors at LSUS on Saturday, May 6th from 10 am – 4 pm. Volunteers will need to arrive at 9:30 am.

Student volunteers will be assigned a costume and interact (mingle, take pics, give hugs) with children as that book character. We also need volunteers (not in costume) to assist the students in costume. Please let me know if you have interested students. They can volunteer for the entire day or for a 90-minute block. Robinson's Rescue Volunteers Needed!

 Robinson's Rescue is looking for dedicated individuals with a passion for animals to join their volunteer community! Volunteers would be assisting the medical team, host community outreach events, plan and staff fundraisers, and provide administrative support! Lifepath Hospice Care Volunteers Needed!

 Lifepath Hospice care is searching for volunteers! As a volunteer, your role will consist of: visiting 1-4 patients one day a week for at least 30 minutes while being a support person for the patient and family. You may need to lend a listening ear, share a quiet moment, run errands for the patient, read to the patient, listen to their favorite music, play an instrument, paint their nails, etc.

IDEAS Day Volunteers Needed!

 IDEAS Day is a completely free event put on every spring by the LSUHS-Shreveport Science Matters Interest Group for the kids in the community to learn about various fields in STEM. There will be numerous demonstrations sponsored by departments and organizations on and off campus, hopefully giving our local kids broad exposure to the world of STEM. 

This year IDEAS Day will be held at LSU Shreveport on February 25, 2023, from 9 am-3:30 pm. We will need volunteers for set-up, check-in, working the booths, traffic flow, and clean-up.

LSU Shreveport Medical School would like to extend a volunteer opportunity to fellow students in the community to join the medical students in hosting our upcoming event- IDEAS Day.

IDEAS Day is a completely free event put on every spring by the LSUHS-Shreveport Science Matters Interest Group for the kids in the community to learn about various fields in STEM. Prize Fest 2022 Volunteers Needed

 Prize Fest 2022 will be happening on October 14-22nd in downtown Shreveport! This event is geared towards supporting creative arts in film, food, music, fashion, and comedy. Thousands of people from our community and region come to our city to experience this festival. 

We have many shifts available across the two weekends of the event in a variety of capacities from sales to greeting, manual labor to VIP attendants. Shreveport Green Urban Farm volunteers needed!

 Shreveport Green has a huge volunteer event coming up for their Urban Farm on April 22nd. Volunteers will help with planting beds and teach others how to plant vegetables and pollinator beds sustainably. Volunteer and spend some time out in the sun!

Taco Wars volunteers needed!

Taco Wars—Saturday April 30, Noon-8pm at the Municipal Auditorium—is a day-long taco, salsa, and Latino cultural music festival where local taquerias compete for the Golden Taco (chosen by our panel of Taco Experts) and Best Salsa (audience choice) awards...with plenty of free music throughout. We're looking for volunteers in a variety of roles on the day of the event: all roles and shifts are described here, where you can also sign up for a slot (or several slots!). Volunteers get a commemorative T-shirt and free General Admission tickets to this year's Film Prize and Music Prize as our thanks.

Hamilton South Caddo branch of Shreve Memorial Library - In search of volunteers!

 The youth services department for the Hamilton South Caddo branch of Shreve Memorial Library host an afterschool program for children ages 12-18. On Wednesdays at 3:30pm, guest speakers are invited to speak to the children about a variety of topics (career paths, overcoming obstacles, etc.). They would like you to be their next speaker!

Volunteers needed to help with parties and other fun activities!!

 Want to get involved and be a service to older Americans in our community? 

Volunteers needed to help with: 

* Seasonal and monthly parties - fun, food, and interaction

* Weekly activities - Bingo, Bean Bag Baseball, and more! 

* Speakers - to give presentations on interesting topics

* Instructors - to share skills like painting and crafts

Volunteer shifts: Mostly during the day and is flexible depending on the event or activity. 

Volunteer requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and have your 1st and 2nd Covid vaccination. 


These events are a lot of fun and you will meet some of the most amazing people who have stories to tell and wisdom to share!
